Doyle Dykes has long favored Maple Grand Auditorium acoustic models. In addition to his signature guitar, the DDSM, another namesake guitar, the Doyle Deluxe (DDX), was designed to bring a more affordable signature-style guitar to Doyle-inspired players while still delivering a high level of performance and style. The DDX is a Maple Laminate Grand Auditorium with a Solid Sitka Spruce Top. Offered in black with a gloss finish, the DDX features Doyle’s Chet Atkins-style fretboard Inlays, a stylized signature treatment emblazoned along the Headstock, crisp white Binding, a 25-1/2-inch Scale length (compared to the DDSM’s short-scale 24-7/8 inches), and a narrower 1-11/16-inch Neck. The guitar comes performance-ready with Taylor’s under-saddle ES-T pickup.
