I tried this clarinet out at the Texas Music Educator's Association Convention just a few days ago and found many aspects of its tonal performance to be superior to Buffet's R13. Because of the extreme climate change from where that clarinet was stored (in Paris) to Texas I can't say anything about the mechanical action, but I was impressed with how smooth the clarinet changed between the high F-sharp (LH: thumb-open-2-open / RH: all open) and the many G's above it (such as thumb-open-2[Eflat lever] and LH:thumb-open-2 RH: 1-2-open-[Aflat/Eflat lever]). I am goin to recommend this to my students for more study on its mechanisms and tonal stability.
