À propos de la marque Gretsch guitars
Gretsch fait partie des plus anciens fabricants d’instruments de musique. En 1883, Friedrich Gretsch, originaire d’Allemagne, s’établit à New York.
Agé de 27 ans seulement, il crée son entreprise et commence son activité en fabriquant des banjos et des batteries. Au cours de la première moitié du 20e siècle, Gretsch se lance dans la fabrication de guitares. Dans les années 50, elle s’impose comme une marque incontournable grâce à ses guitares électriques et à l’émergence du Rock’n’roll. Le design et le son caractéristiques des guitares Gretsch s’associent parfaitement à ce nouveau courant musical qui bouleversera le monde.
En 2002, Gretsch signe un accord avec Fender Musical Instruments qui autorise Fender à produire, commercialiser et distribuer les guitares Gretsch dans le monde entier. Fred Gretsch est toujours propriétaire de la marque et reste impliqué dans les décisions importantes la concernant.
Beaucoup considèrent que ce partenariat est un nouvel âge d’or pour les guitares Gretsch qui présentent aujourd’hui une qualité jamais atteinte auparavant.
