The Fret-King Esprit models have returned to their roots.
First introduced in the late nineties, the Fret-King Esprit was the first guitar and bass design in decades to revive the stepped body front, popularised in the ‘60s. As changes were made to the Esprit, this design feature was phased out, but now the stepped front is back and looking better than ever.
Exhibiting partially-recessed control knobs, making for a smooth front profile and a cleaner appearance, the new Esprit is a classic, user-friendly, professional level instrument.
The Fret-King Black Label Esprit I bass, with its balanced, asymmetric stepped body front styling, distinctive 4-in-line peghead and signature pickguard, is familiar, radical, and comfortable on the eye.
Fitted with Fret-King's distinctive WJM double coil, many pickups in one, this Wilkinson masterpiece is a profound and powerful pickup which will hold its own in every musical style. Routed through a traditional volume control, passive tone control, and the Fret-King Vari-coil, which progressively winds the WJM back to the paired pole piece element, the WJM takes you on a journey from jazz on to punchy slaps and pops, vintage to vicious, passive to an almost active like depth, definition and power.
The Esprit I is an original Fret-King® Black Label Series™ bass created by Trev Wilkinson
and the UK Fret-King design team.
