Description

214ce Plus

Sporting black binding, nickel tuners and a premium, lightweight Aerocase that offers excellent portability and damage protection, the full gloss 214ce Plus is a versatile, tonally balanced and comfortable Grand Auditorium (GA) with a bucket load of high spec appointments. A solid sitka spruce top is paired with climate resilient layered rosewood back and sides in the instantly recognisable GA outline, in essence an enhanced dreadnought with a slightly pinched waist that helps deliver a balanced and proportioned tonal response, with clarity, loads of volume output, great projection and dynamic range. A swiss army knife of a guitar that can adapt to a wide range of playing styles, from flatpicking to fingerstyle - a slender, low action and well balanced Taylor neck offers consistent intonation right up to the higher registers of the fretboard, access to which is made a breeze thanks to the sleek Venetian cutaway. Onboard ES2 electronics ensure full control of your tone with 3 simple pots, volume, treble and bass.

Grand Auditorium

When you think of a Taylor Guitar the chances are you think of a Grand Auditorium. For over 20 years it has been the classic Taylor body shape, with just the right blend of tonal balance, projection, note articulation, top end shimmer and unbelievable feel playability - it has been a hallmark of the guitar industry and a go to for players of all ages, abilities and musical direction. With a width / depth like that of the dreadnought but with sleeker lines and a narrower waist that make it easily identifiable from across the room - this most versatile of guitar platforms provides a level playing field and from bedroom, touring or studio musicians alike, just makes you want to keep on playing.

Layered Rosewood

Layered rosewood is among the most popular layered tonewoods in the Taylor family, often appearing in the 200 Series and its Deluxe and Plus subsets. Offering a classically natural, chocolatey visual character, layered rosewood also provides a bold, vibrant tone, usually bolstered by a solid Sitka spruce top.

Sitka Spruce

Sitka Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops. Sitka generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous playing styles from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking. As a guitar soundboard, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It’s used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking.

ES-2 Pickup

If you need to amplify your sound, you'll love the revolutionary onboard ES2 pickup system. The 3 individual sensors located behind the saddle combine with the pro-grade preamp to deliver an unmatched dynamics, perfect for live or studio."
