The first true Wide Range CuNiFe magnet pickup in over 40 years, it delivers the rich, bright sound of humbuckers with full, round lows, and crisp highs. CuNiFe pickups deliver "high-fidelity" clarity but never lose their attack or definition, even if you push them to their limits. A chrome bezel, exposed studs configured as "3x3" and the Fender logo complete the vintage 1970s-style look. In the early 1970s, with the powerful sounds of humbuckers roaring in popular music, Fender employed the designer. Seth Lover pickups to create the house version of a high output humbucker model. The Wide Range pickup, with its large coils and threaded CuNiFe magnetic rods, achieved that singular, brilliant sound that could be heard on Telecaster Custom, Thinline and Deluxe guitars of this era. Coveted by musicians of all styles for decades, the end of production of the Telecaster Custom in 1979 led to the demise of the real CuNiFe magnet pickups of the time.
