The AT-LP 140XP will suit specialized audiophile clubs and bars equipped with Hi-Fi sound systems, select reggae, jazz, rock, soul, funk, disco..., home DJs who only mix, or audiophile DJs who select sharp discs without necessarily setting them to the tempo and mixing them together. Their approach to the musical atmosphere is not exclusively party oriented. Indeed, it is not a matter of making thousands of people dance but rather of enjoying a warm and precise sound in an elitist and calm atmosphere.. In this kind of club, like jazz bars, we listen to, analyze and appreciate music that has dynamics on a broadcasting system restoring at best the original sound quality of the source with all the small faults that it can contain (crackles, breath, etc.)
The AT-LP140XP professional turntable, fully manual, includes a direct drive motor with high torque, a molded cast aluminum plate, damped and anti-resonant to ensure stable rotation in the axis (at 33 1 / 3, 45 and 78 rpm). It is equipped with an S-shaped tonearm with height, support force and dynamic anti-skating control.
Audio-Technica has been a leader in the phono cell for over 50 years and this expertise is found in the DJ cell with high output level AT-XP3, delivered with the turntable, and which has a conical reading tip of 0.6mil. It is delivered pre-assembled on the AT-HS6 universal cell holder.
Designed to be connected to devices with a phono input, the turntable is delivered with a detachable double RCA cable and delivers an output level of 5.5mV.
The other professional functions include the start / stop button, front and rear playback, locking and speed variation controlled by quartz (adjustment of +/- 8%, +/- 16% and +/- 24%), a stroboscopic marker tray with speedometer and a removable light to locate its reading tip as well as a removable protective cover.
It is certain that the Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP will not suit all DJs. Indeed, its hybrid design for audiophiles is contradictory with the performance of the scratch type, which requires significant handling of vinyls and stability close to perfection.. The AT-LP 140XP, in order to best absorb any form of vibration, is mounted on feet so damping that the simple fact of applying manual pressure on the vinyl tilts the turntable and its plate.
