Description

In 1966, the English distributor Arbiter Electronics marketed the pedal that would change the face of the world of music, the Fuzz Face. At the same time, in the same city of London, Jimi Hendrix began to make himself known with one of these pedals at his feet.

The Fuzz of his master.
Jimi Hendrix is ??undoubtedly the artist most intimately associated with the sound of the Fuzz Face, the one that made guitarists around the world want to take an interest in this modest pedal whose circuit is almost as simple as its settings, limited to a volume and a gain (called "fuzz"). Among its different versions, the one that remains most intimately associated with Hendrix remains the Fuzz Face of 1969, the first silicon version that is heard on the album "Electric Ladyland".

Reissue too faithful!
It is this version, richer in gain than the first germanium transistor, that Dunlop reproduced under the name of JHF1 (for Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face 1). In the name of fidelity to the original model, this reissue has a huge size compared to the tiny circuit it houses, a memory of a time when we simply put his pedals on the ground and where stability was needed as master word. It was therefore logical to propose a reduced version, the FFM3 (Fuzz Face Mini 3), to integrate it more easily into a modern pedalboard.

The pile in the Face.
To top it all off, the FFM3 also incorporates two modern features that were sorely lacking in the JHF1: a plug for 9V power supply (practical in a pedalboard with MXR DC Brick style power supply), and a battery door easily accessible on the side of the pedal, and therefore without having to unscrew the base. Real Fuzz Face aficionados know that this model sounds at its best when powered by battery, and some even claim to hear differences in sound between two brands of batteries! Your turn to judge...

The Fuzz Face Mini takes the characteristics of the legendary Fuzz Face, but smaller, more compact and therefore easier to insert into your pedalboard!

characteristics :

- Switch on / off with LED indicator
- Power supply: jack or battery

The FFM3 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face has exactly the same circuitry as the JHF1 in a smaller package for a smooth rendering that made Jimi Hendrix famous.
