In the formative years since the Stratocaster's revolutionary debut in 1954, it has undergone minor modifications that have helped firmly establish its legacy as the finest electric guitar ever made. The Vintage Custom 1955 Stratocaster offers rare and interesting features that we believe represent the best of the Strat®'s origins, and give you a glimpse of the innovations that were crucial to its development. The NOS flash lacquer finish lets the guitar breathe and reveals some of its natural grain thanks to its 2-color Sunburst finish with large gradation. The neck features a vintage compound radius of 7.25"-9.5"", which we've found on very few examples, giving it a unique feel even among vintage-inspired models.
It also features medium vintage frets, which are slightly larger than the standard vintage size and very comfortable to play. Other features of this guitar include Closet Classic hardware, two-piece ash body, stained maple neck with 54 "U"-shaped neck profile, 21 medium vintage frets, hand-wound Strat 55 pickups with 54 transitional covers, 5-way switch, vintage wiring, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, bone saddle, round string tree and vintage-style tuners.
