This lamp incorporates many of the characteristics of the EL34 model, but with an output level of approximately 5 to 8 watts. Capable of generating a very smooth and creamy sound, it is fitted to many modern Class "A" amplifiers. Almost all manufacturers of modern tube amplifiers produce small-scale models, and the EL84 Groove Tubes are perfect for replacing the tubes in these amps. Ideal for both recording and rehearsing, they produce a smooth sound, rich in harmonics, with very musical highs. A high performance lamp - durable and of good quality. It tends to be a little more aggressive and nervous when you push it all the way to the overdrive. This version is slightly brighter, but the highs are still very smooth.
