Description

415 Hz tenor recorders, long cut, baroque fingering, double keys

In all registers, the tenor recorder according to Hotteterre emits a warm sound of regular power. It lends itself perfectly to solo performance, all the more so because of its 2 1/2 octave range, it can tackle the baroque repertoire for flute. Because of its size, these tenor recorders have keys.

These are three recorders bearing the symbol of the sea anchor which served as a model for our tenor according to Hotteterre. The symbol of the anchor is that of Jean Hotteterre and his descendants, that of a lineage of the great Hotteterre family from which come many musicians and luthiers who lived in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is impossible to say that these three instruments were really made by Jean Hotteterre or his descendants. Two of the three flutes are now on display at the Museum of Music in Paris, the third is part of the collection of Frans Brüggen in Amsterdam
