With incredible precision, its PureAcoustic Piano Modeling Tone Generator reproduces every aspect of creating rich, diffuse sound inside an acoustic grand piano. Eight pre-programmed variations let you choose from an elegant classical sound (Concert) as well as a more pop and dynamic sound (Stage). You can then dive into the built-in Piano Designer to customize your sound, just like an experienced technician would, using many easy-to-adjust parameters. And thanks to My Stage and PureAcoustic Ambience, you can immerse yourself in a wide range of realistic virtual environments, from playing in the studio to a concert in an auditorium. The amount of piano sounds the FP-90X has is almost endless, and each one is the best it can be.

Thanks to its built-in high-fidelity sound system, capable of projecting music in all directions, the FP-90X is the only model in the FP-X range to offer such a range of dynamics and sound depth. Its pair of powerful woofers and dome tweeters work in harmony with the vents on the rear of the instrument, to produce a complex soundscape that truly envelops the pianist. This speaker system makes the FP-90X suitable for both home gaming and small-scale gigs. Headphones Acoustic Projection, on the other hand, is essential to headphone gaming, giving you the incredible feeling that sound is filling your gaming room, when only you can hear it.

The FP-90X's PHA-50 keyboard, which is also featured on Roland's best home pianos, is an innovative hybrid keyboard that gives you the best of both worlds by combining the feel and textures of an acoustic piano's keys and ruggedness to any test. The warm wood side faces of the keys will be immediately familiar to experienced pianists, while their composite central frame, which extends from the front to the back of the keys, provides stable touch. An elaborate hammer mechanism ensures authentic key response, which in detail replicates the look and feel of ebony and ivory. You'll feel like you're playing a grand piano keyboard, but won't have to maintain it.

The FP-90X packs its powerful features into a stylish package suitable for modern musicians, playing at home or in concert. Compact in size, incredibly light in weight for a hammer-action instrument, it can easily be moved around your home and stowed away in a closet or taken into a vehicle. You can add a KSC-90 stand and a KPD-90 three-pedal pedal board to the FP-90X for an upright piano feel, or go live with the KS-20X stand and RPU-3 pedal board.
