The Katana-Artist MkII Head is equipped with all the basic features of its acclaimed combo brother. Five unique amp characters and five variations offer 10 different tone options, while five simultaneous effects categories put the sound-shaping power of a massive pedalboard right into your amp. And with BOSS Tone Studio, you can customize the onboard effects with over 60 different types and dive deep into the internal parameters to shape your personal sound.

Loud and Proud
Command the stage with massive sounds by connecting one or two external speaker cabs. The Katana Cabinet 212 Waza is perfectly tuned for the Katana-Artist MkII experience, delivering the ultimate rock voice in a 2x12 configuration loaded with custom Waza speakers. Developed by BOSS, these speakers offer the authentic response and character of the British 25-watt stack speaker from the 1960s, while boosting power to 100 watts. The cabinets can be stacked to create a clean 4x12 configuration, and the versatile design features a removable panel for closed or open back operation.

Deep tone shaping tools
On the front panel, you'll find exclusive features available only on Katana-Artist MkII models. A three-way Contour switch lets you shape the amp's basic tone, while three Global EQ settings are perfect for fine-tuning the overall sound for different guitars and styles. A foot-controlled, post-amp solo boost function is also available, with a panel knob for quick adjustment, plus a dedicated delay and EQ that can be assigned in the BOSS Tone Studio.

Built-in dual amp stand
Powerful expansion features make it easy to use two Katana-Artist MkII amps together. With Dual Link, you can configure each amp with independent settings and operate them from a single GA-FC or GA-FC EX footswitch. Mix clean and dirty sounds, create wet/dry setups, and more. Stereo Expand lets you use a Katana-Artist MkII as your main amp, with stereo effects like chorus, delay and reverb distributed across both amps for a wide, immersive soundfield.

It sounds full of energy every time you plug it in.
Thanks to the BOSS Tube Logic approach, the Katana-Artist MkII head offers the authentic output distortion characteristics of real tube amplifiers, with the sound and feel becoming richer and more responsive as you turn up the volume. But unlike that classic tube amp, our variable power control allows you to reach the sweet spot without getting kicked out of the gig or the house. The Power Control's mid-range setting dials in half the power as stock, but you can adjust its value in 10-watt increments via the BOSS Tone Studio to suit your performance needs.

One-touch recall of custom settings
Onboard Tone Setting memories let you store your favorite amp character and effect settings for instant recall. After composing a sound using the panel controls, save it to the desired memory with a quick button press. Eight tone settings (two banks of four) are available, with quick selection from the panel. And for hands-free operation on the gig, simply connect external footswitches or the GA-FC/GA-FC EX foot controller.

Direct tones ready to mix
Line, USB and phone/recording outputs feature mic cabinet emulation to send mix-ready amp tones to a PA system, DAW computer or headphones. Shape the direct sound with selectable Air Feel settings on the rear panel, including three presets and two custom settings that you can configure in BOSS Tone Studio. Two-channel USB audio is supported, allowing you to track in true stereo with many of the amp's modulation, EQ, delay and reverb effects.

Compact Gig Commander
The optional GA-FC and GA-FC EX foot controllers are the perfect partners for the Katana-Artist MkII head. They connect with a single cable, require no external power supply and take up minimal space. With the six footswitches, you can directly recall tone settings and independently activate/deactivate the five effects sections. They also support external footswitches and expression pedals, with customization via BOSS Tone Studio. The GA-FC offers standard control, while the expanded GA-FC EX offers the ability to control two amps together, connect another unit for additional foot control, and more.

Go further with BOSS Tone Studio
BOSS Tone Studio takes the Katana-Artist MkII experience to the next level, allowing you to customize the amp to suit your style and feel. Modify the factory-installed effects, adjust the order of effects, tweak the global EQ, customize the system settings, and more. And with Livesets, you can save your favorite configurations and instantly reconfigure your amp for different playing situations.

Waza speakers: The ultimate rock voice

Developed by BOSS, these custom drivers offer the authentic response and character of the British 25-watt stack speaker from the 1960s, while boosting its power to 100 watts. The rock-solid construction of the speaker supports the Waza drivers in every respect, producing an inspiring and richly dynamic sound with tight bass, resonant mids and smooth highs that are never sharp or harsh.
