In 1999 Martin entered the world of alternative materials and created a whole new line of high-quality guitars: the X series. Over the next 20 years, the X series evolved to include multiple design changes with the help of these alternative materials.
In 2020, building on its history of 187 years of major innovations in the manufacture of the modern guitar, Martin presents to us the new X series which combines alternative and traditional materials by offering an attractive price a wide choice of finishes in this standard. quality.

Martin reimagined the DX1KAE to get the DX2E Koa.
The back and sides of this new guitar are made of composite (HPL) with a magnificent Koa motif generated from a premium Hawaiian Koa specially selected from our Martin wood reserves. A mother-of-pearl rosette on its Sitka spruce top and the key inlays enhance the luster of this model while the new handle, bridge and solid wood fingerboard make the instrument lighter, more balanced and offer better sound transfer. This guitar is fitted with Fishman MX electronics and mounted with Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 strings, giving the D-X2E Koa a sound that matches its aesthetic appeal. Add to that a new soft padded cover with head, bridge and strap attachments, as well as a durable water repellant exterior, and this model truly becomes a guitar ready for the stage.

Étonnement surpris parce que peu de review de qualité sur le net . J’avais peur que le bois, en particulier la touche soit aussi claire que sur la photo mais en réalité légèrement plus foncée et après une application d’huile de citron elle reprend une belle couleur. les finitions sont sympa en particulier le nacre assez réussi ! Elle sonne super bien pour le prix c’est indéniable, la réputation de Martin n’est pas dégradée avec ce modèle au contraire cela prouve qu’on peux voir un bon son sans mettre 3000e dans une gratte. Je l’utilise exclusivement pour du bluegrass et je la trouve très adaptée pour cela.
