Beethoven's nine symphonies, composed over a period of 25 years, between 1799 and 1824, were already considered very soon after his death as his musical testament. The composer had explored the entire spectrum of the genre, to find in each work new solutions to the fundamental problem of the link to be established between the different characters expressed in each movement, on the one hand, and the motivational unity of the whole, on the other go. And it did not take long to realize the relevance of considering the symphony as fertile in carrying ideals - such as heroism, nobility or feelings of rural life, to the point of call to fraternity in the Choral Final of the Ninth. Beethoven's symphonies, based on the musical reference text of the complete edition of Beethoven's works and provided with new prefaces, are presented here in a practical box set comprising nine very handy study editions. A wonderful gift idea for any admirer of the great Viennese master, at an attractive price!
