Description

Miniature omnidirectional microphone series 4060 beige dpa microphones

This series includes Omni 4060, 4061, 4062, 4063 and 4071 miniature microphones. Each version is adapted to a specific application according to the needs of sensitivity, tension and placement. They are all based on the 4060; The first miniature microphone developed by DPA from a technology used only in hearing aids and measuring microphones. All microphones in this series share significant basic specifications, but each is optimized for particular applications.

This series of microphones has been developed to withstand the most difficult conditions. They contain a pre-polarized capacitor of 5.4 mm in diameter with a vertical diaphragm. This single dual-wall protection system makes pickups very resistant to moisture and perspiration. These microphones are also designed with a keevlar reinforced cable, torsion-resistant, curvatures and constant tractions that are part of the daily use in difficult environments.

The 4060 series acoustic response can be changed by selecting the appropriate grid depending on the use. Two grids are supplied with each microphone (except the 4071 which has a fixed grid). The preinstalled soft boost grid gives a soft boost of 3 dB to 8-20 kHz. It must be used when the microphone is mounted on the artist's head as well as in most other applications where you need a microphone to the natural sound. When installed, the High Boost grid creates an increase of 10 dB around the 12 kHz for applications where the placement of microphones on the chest is preferred. These two grids are anodized stainless steel, which gives a hard and scratch-resistant surface. They can be detached from the microphone to remove sweat, makeup, etc.

Miniature microphones rewarded by the Academy
In 2021, the Board of Governors of the Cinema Academy of Arts and Sciences awarded a price of technical realization to DPA miniature microphones. The price is specifically intended for Jens-Jrn Stokholm and Ole Moesmann for the innovative development of microphones DPA miniature and subminulatures with incredible performance.

Miniature omnidirectional microphone 4060, normal SPL
This microphone is certainly small but of great versatility. Because of its miniature size, it has an omnidirectional directivity of exceptional precision and therefore does not need to be directed directly to the sound source to get a quality sound. The omnidirectional directivity also makes it less sensitive to manipulation noises as well as plosives and wind.

We initially designed this microphone for use with wireless systems in theaters, but it is today one of the most popular pickups in the world for Broadcast and cinema. It is particularly suitable for capturing speech in all its shades and can be used to record a wide range of short distance instruments. This microphone supports acoustic pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping. This microphone is well adapted to applications where the sound source is further away or attenuated and when you want to have a good balance between the signal and the noise.

The miniature 4060 omnidirectional microphone, normal SPL is available in four colors: black, brown, beige and white. An even more resistant version (Heavy Duty 4660) is also available.

About OMNIS microphones
An omnidirectional microphone has the same sensitivity regardless of the angle - in principle it captures the sound evenly in all directions. It gives you an extremely natural and realistic sound with respect to a cardioid micro. Omni microphones are often used to capture ambient sounds, as well as to capture a wide sound source such as a choir in a registration situation. Unfortunately, because of their directivity, OMNIS can also cause larons.

Nevertheless, we recommend that you first try an OMNI DPA because when used near the sound source, its homogeneous frequency response makes these microphones a major asset in your toolbox. It will often give a more natural sound, it can withstand extremely high acoustic pressure levels, it does not suffer from proximity effect and is not as sensitive to wind, plosives or manipulation noises.

flexible adapter system
All DPA microphones can be used easily with a wireless system. We use a single microdot termination on our microphones with an interchangeable adapter to ensure a secure electrical connection. All adapters we use are original, developed and manufactured for the wireless system brand you use. This ensures that your microphone will work consistently without any problem of connecting to your system.

Adapters for wireless systems offer you many possibilities for use. You are no longer linked to a single wireless system. As your needs change, you can simply use another adapter, instead of paying the cost of a new microphone. When you make the change, you will not hear any loss or change in sound quality.

If you are looking for a wireless system adapter, our microphones with Microdot termination are compatible with the professional wireless systems listed below. Many of these brands have several product references. To ensure the best compatibility, you must find the reference of your HF system, which, in most cases, is on the transmitter. Other configurations are possible; However, DPA can not guarantee total compatibility with other unspecified brands.

Manufacturers of HF with which we work: AKG, Audio Ltd., Audio-Technica, Beyerdynamic, Electro-Voice, Lectrosonic, Line 6, Micron, MiPro, Pastega, Ramsa, Sabine, Samson, Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Telex, Toa , Trantec, Vega, Wisycom and Zaxcom.

Wired-Crimp versions without microdot connector are also available for different versions. The most common choices are the 3-pin LEMO (Sennheiser), the mini-jack (Sennheiser) and the TA4F mini-XLR (Shure).

Strengths:
- Exceptional audio quality
- its uniform and consistency between DPA microphones of the same range
- Extremely robust and reliable
- Reduced size designed for easy concealment
- Large selection of clips, gonnettes, grids and other accessories
- Adaptable to most professional wireless systems
