Description

The Essentials to Know About the Collision Devices Snack Pitch Pedal

  • Three creative modes to shape pitch: Oct (octaver), Shift (pitch drifter/detune), and Arp (pitch sequencer).
  • 3 memory presets and an expression input assignable to any parameter for immediate live control.
  • "Magic" potentiometer to inject variations, subtle glitches, or LFO-style movement.
  • Compact format, top-mounted jacks, and buffered bypass for easy integration into pedalboards.

A Compact Pitch-Shifter in the Footsteps of the Greats

With the "Snack" series, Collision Devices brings its passion for sonic exploration into an accessible and portable format. Snack Pitch captures the spirit of the famous "whammy-style" pitch-shifters while adding a melodic sequencer and glide control, all housed in a slim chassis designed for modern pedalboards. It's the ideal entry point into the Collision Devices universe.

Who Is It For and Which Styles?

Perfect for guitarists and bassists seeking solid octaves, chorus/detune-style micro-shifts, expressive leads, or arpeggiated patterns. Alternative rock, shoegaze, ambient, modern pop, post-rock, or sound design: Snack Pitch fits both studio and stage settings, at the front of the chain for pronounced effects or at the end for harmonic layers.

Controls and Features for Stage and Studio

The Volume, Pitch, Lag, and Mode controls form the heart of the pedal. Pitch sets the interval, Lag defines the glissando/portamento time for ultra-smooth transpositions, and Mode selects between Oct, Shift, or Arp. The "Magic" potentiometer adds a touch of madness (light glitch or modulation). Three presets can be saved to instantly switch from a clean octaver to a rhythmic arpeggio. The TRS expression input can control any parameter for whammy-style pitch dives or moving detunes. The buffered bypass stabilizes the signal in large chains; the analog dry-through and full wet mode facilitate advanced integrations.

Sound Character

Snack Pitch combines natural tracking and musicality. In Oct, the octaver remains clean and precise, ideal for thickening a riff or creating an organ-like line. Shift offers micro-shifts for a wide "doubling" effect up to extreme transpositions, while Arp generates hypnotic pitch patterns synchronized to your playing. Dynamics respond to your attack: soft and silky when picking, more aggressive when pushing the amp or upstream distortion.
