Description

PreSonus has been a preamp designer for a long time and focuses exclusively on audio quality. Thus, the TubePre V2 sits on its predecessor by including quality features, for the same price. This new tube version is very professional, and its double-servo gain stage (no capacitors) allows you to increase the signal to even higher levels without causing more background noise. Featuring discrete components, this preamp operates in high voltage, therefore has a huge dynamic range and offers unparalleled detail compared to tube preamps in its class.

But the TubePre V2 has an even wider sound palette with a much more chiseled tube saturation than the original TubePre. The class A XMAX preamp, which made the reputation of the brand, is supported by a tube stage (12AX7). Power TubePre V2 saturation adds color that only a 12AX7 lamp can provide - ranging from mild heat to total fuzz.

In its new rugged housing, the TubePre V2 features on the rear panel an XLR (mic) / instrument (jack) combo input and a balanced XLR output and unbalanced jack at the line level. We have included all the extras you need for professional operation, including a high-pass filter, phantom power for condenser microphones, a polarity inverter, and an old-fashioned backlit VU meter.

The TubePre V2 is more than a microphone preamp! thanks to its instrument and microphone input, it also serves as a direct (DI) box for guitars and basses. It's also small enough to get almost anywhere, even if you can screw it in a standard rack.
