Thanks to its multitimbral, two-part architecture, the Summit puts the power of two Peaks at your fingertips, which allows you to split or superimpose two completely independent patches on the keyboard, or toggle them on the fly. But it's not just two Peaks that have merged: the addition of doubled filters per part, the considerably extended front panel controls, the external audio input, to name a few, give the Summit a whole new dimension in terms of sound and workflow.
At the heart of the Summit is the Oxford digital oscillation, initiated by the Peak, hosted on an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip. This not only generates authentic analog waveforms, but also facilitates FM synthesis and wave tables. The FPGA feeds a true stereo signal path including dual analog filters per part, three levels of analog distortion, and analog VCA controllers. It is this combination of flawless analog emulation oscillators, authentic analog filtering and saturation that gives the Summit an incredibly warm and oily sound.
The Summit offers a multitude of modulation sources and assignment options, as well as three superb FPGA-generated effects, all operable directly from the front panel. It provides the producer or serious performer with everything they need to program electronic sounds of all kinds, from bass to arps to pads, effects, soundbeds and beyond.
