Description

The Chandler Limited TG2 Pre Amp/DI is a recreation of the rare EMI TG12428 preamp used in EMI/Abbey Road recording and mastering consoles in the late 1960s and early 1970s The sound was used on many famous recordings made at Abbey Road, including The Beatles' "Abbey Road" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon."

This microphone preamplifier features the same discrete transformer balanced amplifiers as the TG Series Limiter and delivers creamy, smooth sound with surprisingly open and clear highs. The sound, as many users explain, has "warmth" and punch, but with a "nice" expanded treble. In fact, the unit has a slight increase in its high-end frequency response and some heat-inducing distortion, which contribute to its sound.

Features:
- Microphone pre-amp and 2 mono channel direct box
- Based on the TG 12428 from the EMI/Abbey Road console
- Gain notched from 5 dB up to 75 dB, front DI input
- XLR input and output per channel
- Phantom +48V power supply and phase inverter
- Control of the send level in the summing bus
- 5-pin XLR summation output
- Requires power supply sold separately, item no. 153424
