Description

Extend your horizon with more directivity
If you are already a fan of the DPA 4011, here is a very interesting variant with a wide cardioid polar pattern. Powered by phantom voltage, the DPA 4015C provides a larger pickup area, and is a perfect compromise between an omnidirectional sensor and a conventional cardioid microphone. Sometimes a traditional cardioid pattern isn't 'open' enough; for example, to record instruments radiating their sound energy in a complex way. In this case, the extended directivity of the 4015C makes it possible to encompass a wider sound field, thus capturing the full breadth of a moving performance with greater precision.

Unlimited applications
Recording orchestras or large instrumental ensembles sometimes requires a compromise between including the natural reverberation of the room and precise location. The wide cardioid type polar pattern (sometimes also referred to as 'hemispherical') covers a wider angle of sound, and is an excellent choice for grand piano, guitar, marimbas and percussion, or as an add-on on bass guitars. different desks of a symphony orchestra. It is equally suitable on vocals, whether dubbing / post-sync / voiceover or vocal mic - areas where its superior richness in the bass complements the timbre of many voices.

Absolutely linear, even off axis
The off-axis frequency response of the 4015C remains completely linear - a unique feature of this model, which ensures a sound reproduction of great authenticity. Any crosstalk from a sound source located off-axis of the microphone therefore remains a spectrally faithful reproduction of those sounds, with additional attenuation. With great visual discretion, the 4015C wide cardioid polar pattern microphone is an essential solution for its discretion for sound engineers and set decorators. With excellent sonic precision and very natural sound, this model will certainly exceed expectations on choirs, percussion, grand pianos, wind instruments, etc.
