Each control can be manually "mapped" to any DAW or plug-in parameter via MIDI, or automatically assigned using Automap. The 8 backlit, pressure-sensitive pads are perfect for playing and recording drum and percussion tracks. Roll mode makes it easy to automatically repeat notes. Beyond beats, Arp mode shapes arpeggios in real time, while in Ableton Live they can even be assigned as multi-colored clip launchers: yellow for a loaded clip, green for a currently playing clip, or red for a recording.
USB bus powered, the Impulse 49 can be plugged into a Mac or PC to operate without power. It is also tailored for concerts, with its 5-pin DIN MIDI output port allowing connection to hardware synths and sound modules. In addition to Ableton Live, the Impulse 49 integrates with Logic Pro, Cubase, Reason, Sonar, Pro Tools and other major music production applications. It is also compatible with Novation Automap for instant and automatic control of DAW plug-ins, instruments and effects.
