Description

The Presonus Scepter range of monitors has the particularity of having 2-way coaxial speakers. You will rediscover the nuances of your music that cannot be reproduced by conventional models. The wide stereo image, the finesse of the details and the superb dynamics are the main assets of these high-end powered loudspeakers. This exceptional performance is the result of an advanced coaxial design that runs entirely on a dual-core processor clocked at 32-bit, 96 kHz, employing TQ Fulcrum Acoustic Time Equalization Technology. PreSonus CoActual technology is at the heart of all Scepter series monitors. It's the combination of rugged custom coaxial speakers with powerful DSP using TQ algorithms.

Loudspeaker designers have long known that coaxial designs offer many advantages, such as benefiting from a point source for a cohesive, single acoustic center and a symmetrical dispersion pattern. But until now, the implementation of these systems has been very expensive. Added to this is the need for huge amounts of DSP to drive these sophisticated transducers. With Fulcrum Acoustic, state-of-the-art technology has overcome the typical design problems of coaxial systems while taking advantage of the unique properties of this design. Using custom transducers and TQ algorithms designed by Fulcrum's Dave Gunness, Scepter CoActual monitors deliver clarity and consistency that can only be found in high-end systems.

This set of custom transducers would be nothing without a powerful DSP running dedicated software and top-notch power amplification. Add to that a rich set of acoustic adjustments and high-output protections, and you have a new standard of nearfield monitoring for seasoned studios and commercial installations. Each Scepter monitor contains a DSP that enables the use of Fulcrum Acoustic's renowned TQ algorithms. The processor is used to handle pinna reflections, time linearity and amplitude anomaly corrections, performance reshaping, dynamics and diaphragm motion management. In short, much more advanced coaxial speakers than the most expensive studio monitors.

Around the same price bracket, i used to have Neumann KH120, APS Klasik 2020. I can say even if those 2 models are fantastic, the sceptres are more precise with a better stereo image and i can achieve better mixes with better translation with them, its really a great mixing tool. The only domain i found where these speakers do not excel is they emit a lil hiss when no music is playing like some other brands as well, but the super quality of sound and value make it for it and if you mix at 1 or 1.20 meter from them as you should, it will be really minor.
