The human voice is without a doubt the most expressive instrument that can produce a huge amount of different sounds. Vocoder technology allows you to control this power and control the sound of your instrument in an infinite number of ways via real-time voice manipulation, to achieve word-like sounds, controllable wah-wahs, and more. an infinity of ways, and more. For decades, keyboardists have been using vocoders to create electronic voices and other text-based sounds from synthesizers. The VO-1 gives this power to guitarists and bassists, who can now use this tool as a source of inspiration in their music.

Infinite possibilities, easy access

With the VO-1, BOSS makes the use of vocoder incredibly easy. First, it plugs into your configuration like all other pedals. The only additional element to connect is the microphone, which will be used to control the vocoder of the VO-1 in each of its first three modes. Then you just turn on the effect, turn the buttons, and talk or sing in the microphone playing. You do not even have to sing just. You manage all note pitches with your fingers, as usual, while the VO-1 applies the complex timbral characteristics of your voice in real time. The VO-1 also incorporates an effects loop for patching different external effects, as well as a Blend button to mix your usual guitar sound with vocoder sounds.

Advanced vocoder technology in a compact pedal

Based on the famous BOSS guitar synthesis technology, the VO-1 has more power and versatility than most other vocoders. Its Vintage mode produces the synthetic voice sounds heard in the past in many hits of pop and electronic music; Advanced mode uses the latest BOSS technologies to produce phrases and other vocalizations on your guitar with unprecedented definition and clarity. Talk Box mode recreates the sounds of classic "singer guitars" without the installation of a traditional Talk Box and its pipe, making these iconic sounds more accessible, easier to use. Finally, the Chorus mode produces rich and impressive vocal textures using a single microphone.
