The Washboard, literally "washing board" is a percussion instrument typical of the United States, born in New Orleans. It is especially used in blues, Jazz or Cajun music. Originally, it was a real washing and threshing board; today there are modern versions, specially adapted to music. It is scraped, rubbed and struck with the hands, with a very particular set of fingers whose sound is given by the use of thimbles placed on the end of each finger. H: 48cm - L 22cm.
