Subharmonicon is a semi-modular polyrhythmic analog synthesizer that uses a 6-tone sound engine and a multi-layer clock generator to explore the world of subharmonic, polyrhythm and the unique relationships they create.
The characteristic sound of Subharmonicon begins with two analog VCOs and four subharmonic oscillators for a total of six powerful sound sources. Each subharmonic tone is mathematically derived from one of the two main VCOs, giving the resulting chord forms a beautifully consistent quality. Built-in quantization lets you compose perfect intervals every time with selections for multiple adjustment systems. Choose from contemporary settings for Equal Temperament, celestial intervals from Just Intonation, or unlimited freedom to not quantify at all.
Subharmonicon's distinctive chord forms are animated through a polyrhythmic pair of 4-step sequencers. Each sequencer is clocked by one or all of the four rhythm generators that produce mathematical divisions of the main tempo. Overlay several rhythm generators on top of each other to create complex polyrhythms and discover new inspiring patterns and styles. Dive into Subharmonicon's double envelope generators, the Moog scale filter and the analog VCA to invoke dynamic articulations ranging from lush pads and fuzzy edges to punchy plosives and ritual rhythms.
While no patches are needed to start creating, exploring the Subharmonicon modular patch bay opens up worlds of possibilities when you make new connections and connect with new ideas. The 3.5-point to 32-point patch bay can be corrected by itself, expanding Subharmonicon's on-board capabilities, or interfaced with Mother-32, DFAM and other Eurorack-compatible external equipment (type A MIDI adapter included) for DIN at 3.5 mm MIDI input). Use it as a stand-alone synth with + 12V DC power included or simply remove the front panel to install it in any Eurorack system.
