The TubeMan MKII mini pedal is the very compact Screamer type version from the firm Nux. The mythical green overdrive / boost pedal is undoubtedly the most famous pedal, copied and recorded since its birth in the late 70s. This type of pedal quickly became the secret weapon of many prestigious guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan , Carlos Santana, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, John Mayer, and so many others to make their guitars scream! The purpose of this pedal was to transcribe via a box the rendering of an all-tube amp with a signal strong enough to bring out the natural and warm overdrive of the preamp and power tubes, delivering the character and harmonics so appreciated in all-tube amps. Screamer type pedals therefore allow you to find this sound rendering and this feeling of playing with more control, and at an acceptable volume, avoiding the high volume necessary on an all-tube amp.
The Nux Tubeman MKII takes up the simplicity of a screamer, with its three control potentiometers: level, gain, tone, allowing you to adjust the tone of the sound, to saturate the signal more or less, and to also use the pedal as a a boost by pushing the volume a little more. The FET type transistor makes it possible to produce the characteristic clipping reproducing the natural saturation of a tube amp well pushed in volume, then delivering the harmonics pleasantly coloring the amplified sound. With its simple, musical functionality, the TubeMan MKII pedal really is a great overdrive/boost pedal in a highly concentrated format!
