The Radial StageBug SB-2 is a high-performance passive direct box designed for globe trotters! Made to fit inside a guitar case, the SB-2 is ultra compact and very complete, which allows it to ensure excellent performance in all situations.
The SB-2 has a jack input and a thru output to send back to the amp on stage. The impedance conversion is provided by a custom Eclipse ET-DB3 transformer which is responsible for symmetrizing the signal. For instruments with a high output level, a -15dB pad can be engaged. This allows the SB-2 to be used with active bass and digital pianos, which often tend to overload the input of the devices they are attacking. The 'Merge' feature allows stereo to mono merging, it's a convenient way to connect stereo or computer keyboards without having to reset the source to work in mono.
Once connected, the SB-2 delivers a warm, smooth sound that is more reminiscent of vintage equipment. The Eclipse ET-DB3 transformer generates a slight natural compression pleasant to the ear. The transformer also eliminates buzzing and buzz caused by ground loops by isolating the input from the output. A ground lift that lifts pin 1 of the XLR connector completes it for a quiet, professional result.
