Description

MXR is a brand recognized for the quality of its compressors, starting with the historic Dyna Comp. For those who want to go further in the settings keeping the typical character of the brand, here is the M132 Super Comp.

Unloved indeed.
Difficult to convince the guitarists of the merits of a compressor, as this effect is poorly understood and can be laborious to use. Often, the compression pedals have as many buttons as a prepubescent teenager and require long hours of experimentation to achieve the desired result. Yet from country to funk to blues, countless pros have made it the basis of their sound.

The middle.
The Dyna Comp is one of the first pedals offered by MXR in the early 1970s. And although it has become a classic, too simple its settings prevented certain types of compression. So here is finally the M132 Super Comp, the perfect compromise between easy to understand settings and versatility. In a nutshell, the perfect compressor for demanding technophobes.

The button that was missing.
We kept the output level and compression rate buttons (sensitivity) typical of the Dyna Comp, but we won a third title called Attack. It controls the time that the compressor will apply to the sound, which gives the opportunity to keep its attack unchanged by compressing the sustain only. Or, conversely, systematically reduce the dynamics of all note starts. Everything becomes possible, finally!

Use
Petite pédale de métal, mais compréssion de géant (sans mauvais jeu de mots). Les réglages sont très fins et très étendus, et le souffle plusque modéré. Les caractéristiques de la guitares sont toujours conservées, que ce soit avec des simples bobinages (Dire Straits), ou des doubles type jazz (Jonh Scofield), ou des doubles type metal (rythmique lourde, harmonique présentes, tapping de haute précision).
