Like the NT5, the RØDE NT55 is a cardioid condenser microphone. The NT55 also has a 3-position attenuation setting (0, ?10dB, ?20dB) and a high-pass filter with 3 settings (cut, 75Hz, 150Hz). In addition, it is supplied with an NT45-O omnidirectional capsule. Designed for recording acoustic instruments, such as drum overhead, cymbals and stage use, this externally polarized mic features a 1/2 ?capsule and a J impedance converter -FET active with bipolar output buffer. Its tight cardioid directionality also makes it an ideal microphone for recording dialogues in the studio, installed on a stand or on a pole.
