Canon microphone 4017mk2 DPA - compact, light, and terribly precise
The 4017mk2 DPA is an exceptionally light short barrel microphone, offering very high directionality while preserving natural DPA clarity. It is designed for a wide range of uses, from camera systems to fixed positions in sports structures or for perching in reporting, broadcast and cinema applications.
By removing unwanted surrounding elements from the signal, the 4017mk2 is the latest in canon microphone. It has a balanced off-axis sound and a wide dynamic range. Its 210 mm in length and only 71g in weight make the 4017mk2 DPA a compact microphone in size and one of the lightest pickup microphones on the market.
The optimization of the sound coming from the sides and from behind is the fruit of in-depth research and development. Minimizing the often unlinear response of a cannon microphone - caused by the lobes on the sides - has been one of the key objectives of the 4017. The condenser capsule uses a pre-polarized high voltage back plate which equips the 4017mk2 DPA d '' a high output level, very low background noise and low distortion.
The 4017mk2 DPA includes 2 switchable filters inserted on an innovative design ring: a high boost of +4 dB at 8 kHz and a first order bass attenuator below 300 Hz. A permanent third order high pass filter at 50 Hz removes unwanted handling and wind noise.
Thanks to its remarkable clarity, its wide dynamics and its excellent rejection characteristics, the 4017mk2 DPA is as comfortable in the studio as in sound or in sound recording of live music.
