When the pickup selector is in the neck position, the neck pickup is selected. When the selector is between the neck and middle positions, the bridge side of the neck pickup is selected.
When the selector is in the middle position, both neck and bridge pickups are selected. When the switch is in the middle and bridge position, the bridge side of the neck pickup and the bridge side of the bridge pickup are selected. When the switch is in the bridge position, the bridge pickup is selected.

When the guitar is held in playing position, one knob and one switch are located along the lower edge of the body. The one closest to the neck is the five-way pickup selector. Closer to the input jack is the tone knob. The volume knob is located just above the five-way pickup selector.
