The Phono Preamplifier option for the m905 makes it possible to connect a turntable to the unbalanced input connectors. From the remote control the unbalanced input connectors can be programmed to accept standard line level signals or a phono level signal with RIAA equalization. This is an audiophile grade preamplifier.

Internal jumpers allow the preamplifier to be optimized for moving magnet or moving coil cartridges:
- Low/High Gian 40dB (Moving Magnet) and 60dB (Moving Coil) - High precision passive RIAA EQ with error deviation less than 0.5dB - Input Loading: 47k Ohm, 100 Ohm, or variable 0-500 Ohm - Optional sub-sonic filter (jumper selected)
