Masters Maple Gume Rock 22" 4 shell GyroLock L Rod Custom Black Oyster Swirl The historically proven sound of the combination of maple and eucalyptus is renowned the world over for its explosive mid-range warmth and extended low-end power.
A unique manufacturing technique Using the world's first high-temperature hydraulic drying system, Pearl's SST method was developed to manufacture a bonded multi-layer drum shell with single-layer resonance and strength. This exclusive technique starts with premium woods hand-selected for their unique acoustic characteristics.
Each layer is milled to a precise thickness and glued into two-layer panels. The wood layers are saturated with Pearl's exclusive "AcoustiGlue", which penetrates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood for optimum resonance. Finally, the plies are formed in high-temperature moulds with 1000 PSI hydraulic pressure, producing the ultimate air chamber for optimum resonance, extreme strength and superior sound. All shells are tested for consistency and quality before drilling and assembly to ensure perfect seating and tuning.
An incredible dynamic range 6-ply, 5.4 mm North American maple (4 outer plies) and eucalyptus (2 inner plies). The natural warmth of maple is enhanced by the dense, controlling character of eucalyptus, resulting in greater tonal versatility and diversity.
60° external Bearing Edge A slightly deeper edge that draws increased power and bite from the finesse of the hybrid maple and eucalyptus shell.
