The WA-84 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone that draws on conventional circuitry by incorporating a Cinemag USA transformer, Fairchild transistors and Wima capacitors, plus a completely discrete signal path. The WA-84 is designed for use in the studio, home studio, live, broadcast and will beautifully reproduce a variety of instruments such as: guitars and basses, drums, pianos, strings, brass.
The use of a nickel Cinemag transformer gives the WA-84 a unique warmth and broadens the sound sources. Manufacturers of small diaphragm microphones have gradually stopped using transformers in recent years for reasons of cost and ease. For the design of the WA-84, Warm Audio did not choose the ease and decided to use the classic method, attacking a more boutique design, known for its crystalline and soft sound.
