The new MC-3.2 Smart Clocks HD clock offers improved jitter performance, greater flexibility, more outputs per device and a new user interface. Based on the circuit design of MUTEC's famous iClock, the Redundant Multiple Clock Synthesizer and Video Reference Generator, the MC-3.2's signal quality and flexibility reach a new level of performance unmatched in its price range.
The MC-3.2 Smart Clock HD offers 7 low jitter word clocks, from 32.0 kHz to 192.0 kHz, independently distributed to 4 pairs of clock outputs with multipliers of x 1, x 2 and x4 for a maximum frequency of 768.0 kHz . For synchronization to older Avid ProTools ™ systems, the respective clock rates can be transferred as Word Clock x 256 (Super Clock). AES / EBU and S / PDIF (optical + coaxial) blank frame sync signals are available from 32.0 kHz to 192.0 kHz. Each word clock output pair or the AES / EBU and S / PDIF outputs can be set to a different clock rate, based on a common rate. In this way, new devices with higher frequencies can be integrated into an existing studio setup without difficulty.
The advantage of the design of the MC-3.2 Smart Clocks HD is the high precision of their generator, from which all clock signals are derived simultaneously. The individual clock signals generated are synchronized in phase, and have the same precision in frequency and timing. The frequency generator accuracy is <± 1ppm and conforms to AES 11, Grade 1, and broadcast specifications.
