the altea-718a is an amplified subwoofer system designed to provide an extended response in the bass to altea speakers. at the heart of the system is a loudspeaker of graves 18fw4. this speaker incorporates a high efficiency speaker design with gef and a 3 "extended mobile coil for a long excursion. the cooling is ensured thanks to the ventilated polar piece of 18fw4 and abundant openings in the rear plate of the speaker, which makes it possible to maintain the power compression at a minimum while providing a high acoustic output over prolonged periods.
the 18fw4 das loudspeaker is powered by a peak class d amplifier of 1200 w peak. on the rear panel, a symmetrical input connector and "loop thru stereo output connections are available to provide a signal to altea satellite systems. thanks to the digital presets accessible through a dascontrol ™ interface on the back of the box, the configuration of a combo system with altea full range systems is easy.
the altea-718 is the passive version for use with an external amplification and an outside dsp.
