If there was ever a time when the bass truly emerged from the shadow of the drums and took center stage, it was in the golden era of disco. While jumpsuits, platform shoes, and flared pants may belong to the 1970s era, disco has never been more prevalent than back then. He may have taken on a more pop costume, but listen to Dua Lipa, Daft Punk or Bruno Mars and you will hear it. At the forefront of this sound is a classic bass that delivers a juicy disco groove infused with double notes and filled with octaves.
For this EBX, we did our best to find the ultimate instrument that could bridge the gap between classic and modern – an instrument that had all the vintage traits but also enough girth to hold its own in modern pop production. We found him. Plus, this isn't just any bass, it's one of 356 Hagström* Super Swedes ever built. Co-designed by the late Rutger Gunnarsson of ABBA fame, this is a true icon of disco bass, just like the very man who once played it.
In addition to the instrument itself, this EBX also includes a wide selection of classic to modern sounding presets as well as a basic collection of big, thick disco-like basslines.
