Eric Miyashiro Signature Model
Internationally renowned trumpeter Eric Miyashiro led the development of this signature "EM" model which is an update of the previous version released 17 years ago.
The power and response of the original version has been retained while completely renovating the piston block, the essential "heart" of the instrument. Each part has been carefully re-examined and refined where necessary to improve high register playability and overall control.
The EM model continues to evolve to meet the needs of the world's greatest musicians.
Mouthpiece and Bridge
Good playability makes high notes easier to play and overall control is greatly improved.
Progressive bore (ML)
The progressive bore* (ML) design has been chosen to achieve optimum playability and tonal consistency throughout the range of the instrument.
*This unique design allows for smooth and consistent playing regardless of the playing combinations of the pistons.
Phosphor bronze lower caps and set screws
In order to achieve optimum tone and playability, numerous prototypes were made using different materials of different weights. The result of this research was the adoption of a bronze alloy, Phosphor Bronze, for the lower piston caps and stop screw, for the first time in the Yamaha trumpet range. These parts help to achieve a brilliant high register as well as greater harmonic richness in the midrange.
Main Tuning Slide Spacer
The unique shape of the tuning slide spacer, which reduces resistance compared to conventional spacers, helps stabilise resonance by minimising variations in playability and resistance. Its positioning has been revised to optimise the overall playing experience.
Horn
Made from a sheet of brass, 134.4mm in diameter, it provides high sound power and a fast response.
Horn with French ring
In contrast to traditional methods where a round-edged bell with a steel wire reinforcement is used for the banding, the so-called French bell with its semi-flat edge, an extremely advanced technique, allows for increased playing comfort thanks to a greater sound reproduction towards the musician.
Side-welded bell
The side-welding of the bell is a process that consists in fixing the spacers on the bell's weld, thus allowing the bell to vibrate more freely and to obtain a larger sound opening.
Mouthpiece (TR-EM1-MK2)
The mouthpiece has been redesigned for optimal adaptation to YTR-8330EM version 2.
A slightly larger diameter and heavier weight results in a clearer, more playable upper register, as well as better tonality and playability throughout the range of the instrument.
TRC-8340EM
This semi-flexible double backpack case has been designed specifically for the EM model trumpets. It can accommodate a YTR-8330EM plus another trumpet or flugelhorn. Numerous pockets are provided and an original mouthpiece pouch is included.
