The legendary AKG C414 microphone series is well established. Since 1971, the C414s have been a staple in most studios and have contributed to the recording of thousands of prestigious records. On stage, they accompany the tours of artists of all musical styles and are required for many instruments. They also equip a large number of reference broadcast installations.
The C414 XLS offers 9 directivity choices to perfectly suit any type of recording environment. It has a low-cut filter that can be set on three frequencies and an attenuation circuit on three levels. In the case of use on stage or in a fixed installation, its controls can be easily deactivated to avoid any handling error. An LED diode can also detect the shortest clipping situation.
The C414 XLS maintains the sonic character of the legendary C 414 B-ULS, the longest-selling benchmark of the series. Designed to achieve neutral, linear sound, this is the most universal studio microphone of decades. Widely used for precise acoustic instrument pickup, the new C414 XLS combines its benchmark quality with the latest in construction technology for its acoustic and electronic components. It is particularly appreciated for its linearity, its large diaphragm and its admissible dynamics for the recording of pianos, woodwinds, winds, strings, percussions and vocals, as much in the studio as on stage.
