Cut by hand, the canes are worn on the back of a man on the edge of a reed bed. They are then leafed, sun-dried, dried, sawn, arrowed, tabled, bevelled, ... No less than fifteen distinct production stages that produce a considerable volume of reed waste that is reused as a fertilizer for reed beds or as fuel for heating factory.
