In 1958, we changed the design of the venerable Telecaster from a through-string bridge to a top-loading bridge. A flexible guitar with authentic Fender sound, the Vintage Custom '58 Telecaster lets you choose either stringing method, thanks to the Tele Top-Load bridge with vintage threaded steel saddles. The two-piece select ash body is finished in Aged White Blonde NOS translucent lacquer, giving the impression that this instrument has traveled through time, from 1958 to the present day. The "U"-shaped profile of the stained riftsawn maple neck comfortably fills the hand, while the 7.25- to 9.5-inch compound radius fingerboard flattens as you move up the neck, making it easy to bend without damage, and the 21 medium-period frets offer a familiar playing feel. The Tele 58's pair of hand-assembled single-coil pickups offer authentic tone, linked to vintage-style wiring. For fans of more modern sounds, we've included a set of Fat '50s Tele controls and wiring in the case. Other features: 3-position switch, 1-ply eggshell pickguard, vintage-style tuning machines, bone saddle and wing bars. Includes deluxe case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
