Edward Elgar's Salvation of Love is one of those works by the English master whose melodies are simply unforgettable. In addition, this brief work had special significance for the composer. Caroline Alice Roberts had been taking piano lessons since 1886 with Elgar. The pupil and the teacher quickly fell in love with each other and the engagement was celebrated in 1888. That year, Elgar composed for his future wife "Salut d'Amour", which still bore the German title " Liebesgruß ". The marriage took place in 1889 - simultaneously with the printing of the work. We present this imperishable classic, of medium difficulty, in the original versions for violin and piano, cello and piano (HN 1189) and solo piano (HN 1190).
