Henle Editions present the first of three volumes devoted to the entirety of Ludwig van Beethoven's piano sonatas in a new Urtext creation, by Maestro Murray Perahia and Qualified expert at Éditions G. Henle, Norbert Gertsch. This volume contains the eleven sonatas published between 1802 and 1806, our 12 to 22, op. 26 to 54. All these sonatas are edited according to the most current state of the research, and provided with a detailed preface as well as a critical comment devoted to the question of sources and problems of variants.
