After shocking and impressing the audio industry with the HERCHILD Model 670 & Model 660, Heritage Audio now turns to the 500 series format to offer something extremely rare... A Variable Tube Compressor Analog stereo mu in a two-space 500 series module!
The GRANDCHILD 670/500 is packed with 4 NOS 6BA6 (5749) tubes, three proprietary designed transformers (one per channel and one for the Sidechain) and the select components and circuitry needed to capture that elusive sound. For the first time, it's possible to get the tone and response you're looking for in such an affordable package.
In common with its big brother, we find an INPUT GAIN control with an adjustable range of 20dB, the AC Threshold, 5 selectable Attack and Release times, the DC Threshold which gives access to the progressive ratio, which is a unique curve adjustment combining ratio and knee control, soft transitioned from hard limitation to very soft and transparent light compression. There is also a 3-position high-pass sidechain filter to reduce the influence of low frequencies on the detection circuit, a must-have these days for today's productions.
