The boost and cut of the mid control are each centered on slightly different frequencies, an innovation that offers a predefined range of the most favorable bass sounds.
Precise tone control, including a switch to select passive-only operation. When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble tone control knob becomes the master tone control for the passive circuit.

Multi-scale

Controls
When the bass is held in playing position, three small knobs are located toward the lower edge of the body. From the bottom of the body toward the neck, these knobs control the boost/cut of the treble, the boost/cut of the mids, and the boost/cut of the bass. Above these knobs are two larger knobs, closer to the bridge. Among these, the knob closest to the body end is the pickup balance, and the knob toward the neck is the volume knob.
There are two switches on this bass. The switch closest to the lower edge of the body is a 3-way mid frequency switch. When the switch is in the Neck position, the mid boost peak is at 250 Hz. When the switch is in the center position, the mid boost peak is at 450 Hz. When the switch is in the Bridge position, the mid boost peak is at 700 Hz.
The other switch, closer to the middle of the bass, is the EQ bypass switch. When the switch is in the Neck position, the EQ is bypassed. When the switch is in the Bridge position, the EQ is active. When the EQ is bypassed, the treble knob functions as a passive tone control knob.
