Dieses Album enthält über 60 Kompositionen, die die Spieler bis in unsere Zeit auf eine musikalische Reise durch Mittelalter, Renaissance und Barock entführen. Zu den Werken zählen Werke alter Meister wie Vivaldi, Bach, Hotteterre, Dowland und Telemann sowie Volkslieder und dreizehn Originalkompositionen des britischen Flötisten Alan Davis. Eine Vielzahl von Stilen, einschließlich Blues, Jazz und Latin, werden behandelt.

Die Stücke mit mittlerem technischen Schwierigkeitsgrad wurden vom bekannten tschechischen Flötisten Jan Kvapil ausgewählt, der für seine Blockflötenschulmethoden bekannt ist. Sie eignen sich für Blockflöte solo, Blockflöte mit Begleitung (Gitarre, Klavier / Cembalo) und können auch mit 2-3 Blockflöten gespielt werden. Für diese Ausgabe stehen kostenlose Zusatzmaterialien zur Verfügung: Es gibt 32 Hörbeispiele, die heruntergeladen werden können. Man kann die Stücke unbegleitet oder begleitet von verschiedenen Instrumenten (Cembalo, Klavier, Laute, Viola da Gamba, Schlagzeug) und in verschiedenen Tempi hören.
