Heritage at your feet Whether you're looking for the legendary boost tones, breaking-edge overdrive, or want to push your rhythm channel to the real grit ? the Centavo has all the beloved tones of the original pedal. The Centavo is comfortable acting as a boost pedal, but the saturation in the higher gain settings provides a platform for true "transparent" overdriven rhythm sounds. The addition of the "MOD" switch on the rear?requested by Jeff Beck on the original pedal?allows players to extend bass response, affecting the lower strings for additional low-end drive tones.
Pedal settings and controls The Centavo has three basic controls on the top - Gain, Treble and Output. The gain on Centavo breaks quite late, with a break edge reaching after 50% and true clipping occurring late in the gain phase. The treble control is useful for dialing in more high-end for muddier guitars, like dual humbucker models or all-mahogany instruments. The Centavo is output loaded and can easily deliver clean amplification or create natural distortion if your amplifier tubes are already pushed. Engaging the rear MOD switch is a great tool to have at your disposal if the overdrive initially sounds "thin" in the lower register.
