Common features:
Compatible with Allen & Heath Qu, SQ, and GLD digital consoles, the ME-1 is the most complete personal monitor unit in the ME range thanks to its many configurable options and advanced features.
An essential companion for Allen & Heath consoles on stage.
You are on stage, instrument in hand, ready to sing or strum your chord, but at the crucial moment, you only hear the other band members in your monitor speaker... The ME-1 was developed to avoid this situation by interfacing directly with an Allen & Heath Qu, SQ, or GLD digital console. Thanks to the proprietary dSnake protocol, it communicates with the mixing console and receives the different audio channels. ME systems can also be used with third-party consoles via the use of an ME-U hub and a Dante-type audio card.
Finally take control of your monitor!
Very easy to implement, the ME-1 offers the musician a clear and accessible interface. The control panel is occupied by 16 backlit rubber user buttons perfectly visible in the dark, on which the musician can easily assign a mono or stereo source, or even a group. It thus becomes possible to simply control the level of the vocal mic, a stereo track, or a complete drum kit via a group. This group function allows mixing 40 sources with only 16 buttons and saves the console’s mix outputs, on which conventional monitor systems depend. Note that each channel has level control, panning, and a 3-band equalizer.
A personal monitor designed for musicians.
In addition to these 16 backlit user buttons, the control panel features an OLED screen with variable brightness that provides an overview of the panning and level parameters of the selected channel. All parameters can be modified via a simple control knob that allows access to menus and navigation through different functions, such as input level, limiter, or equalizer. Allen & Heath thought of everything by equipping the ME-1 with a built-in microphone with adjustable level, so the musician can hear conversations around them without removing their headphones.
A robust and complete product.
Designed for both studio and stage, the ME-1 is notably robust. Well equipped in terms of connections, it has an auxiliary input in minijack format, a dSnake etherCon input to receive the signal from a console, and an output of the same format to connect another ME system in the chain. The set is completed by 2 headphone outputs in jack and minijack format, as well as a line output to feed an external speaker if necessary.
The true cornerstone of the Allen & Heath ME monitoring system, the ME-1 is a very complete and highly configurable personal monitor, while remaining simple to use and accessible to any musician.
The ME-1 personal monitor unit gives musicians control over their monitoring mix. It allows each user to obtain the personalized setting they prefer and seek, offering a choice between maximum control of the mix in its smallest details and simplified operation limited to a few settings. Intuitive, elegant, and easy to use, the ME-1 offers excellent intelligibility thanks to clear visual indications and the ability to rename programs for quick reference. Fully customizable with its assignable buttons, parameters can be saved and recalled with a simple press of a button. Presets for different groups and uses can be saved on a USB key to be archived or quickly transferred to another ME system. The ME-1 automatically imports channel names entered in a GLD console when connected to the dSnake of an AudioRack AR2412 via a Cat5 cable. They can be connected in series via their EtherCon input/output, or in a star configuration using a 10-port POE ME-U router.
