Description
In 1997, the Fender Custom Shop team met Donal Gallagher, brother of the late, great guitarist Rory Gallagher, in Los Angeles and were given access to one of the most coveted guitars of all time: Rory's heavily worn 1961 Stratocaster®. Fender initially built 40 replicas for sale in Europe but was soon overwhelmed with demand for more. The Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster is an exact replica of this revered instrument, right down to the extremely worn 3-Color Sunburst alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. It even includes five Sperzel® tuners and one mismatched Gotoh® tuner, along with a white plastic dot at the 12th fret instead of the original clay dot. It's equipped with three '60s-style single-coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 medium jumbo frets, and a synthetic bone nut. Our tribute to a truly missed and legendary master.
